This is the time of year that people start looking around for gaming systems and electronic devices. The thing that people don’t do before they run out to the store and buy something is to do a little research on the product they want to buy. For example, many people who play the Xbox 360 or Sony PS3 want to use a bluetooth headset; however, which one works the best with the gaming system you have? The answer is that there are several things to consider when buying bluetooth headsets or headphones for gaming systems.

The first thing to consider is your gaming system. Xbox 360 is a big tricky as you usually have to buy the Microsoft made headset to work with the gaming system. The PS3 on the other hand is different as it will accept any bluetooth headset that you could use with a cell phone. The key here is to pick a headset that is medium to high quality. What we mean by this is pick a headset that has good microphone reception to reduce static on your PS3 and that has a long battery life. Many cheaper bluetooth headsets have a very small battery life and a very static sounding microphone.

What most people don’t realize or understand when buying a bluetooth headset for their gaming system is that your internet connection speed matters. The slower the internet connection speed, the worse your bluetooth headset will sound. Why is this? The answer is that the gaming system is packeting information through the internet which includes graphics, animation, positioning etc. and if the connection speed is slow the gaming system will prioritize which feature it will give the most bandwidth to. Sorry to say that the audio quality for voice over internet headsets is at the bottom of the list to dedicate high quality bandwidth to. This means that if you have a slow connection, your audio will sound mumbled and jumbled, if it even gets to the other players at all. To ensure you have great sounding high quality gaming audio, make sure you have the fastest internet connection possible. People that sound crystal clear on line via voice over talk on games usually always have a cable internet connection or higher.

We hope this article has been helpful in your quest of selecting a bluetooth headset to be used on a gaming system. Remember a high quality headset will only sound high quality if the internet is fast. Good Luck!
